SPM toolbox for subject-specific analyses (spm_ss)

General Information

This toolbox was developed by Alfonso Nieto-Castañon and Ev Fedorenko to facilitate the process of conducting subject-specific analyses in SPM.

This toolbox uses SPM and is run in MATLAB. Example scripts can be found in spm_ss/batchexamples.

Primary uses: i) defining subject-specific functional regions of interest (fROIs) and extracting responses from these fROIs; and ii) finding spatially consistent (across participants) areas of activation in a way that allows for inter-individual variability in the precise locations of functional areas. For i, you can use parcels derived from a localizer task (for example, you can use our language parcels for intersecting with individual subjects’ activation maps for the sentences > nonwords localizer contrast) or anatomical parcels from an atlas."
